Aranya Mega Plantation 500 Plants Community Service

Aranya Mega Plantation 500 Plants

ARANYA HABITAT – A Living Forest for a Greener Tomorrow Aranya Habitat is the flagship environmental project of the Rotary Club of Thane Green City, dedicated to creating a sustainable urban forest. Initiated in 2020, the Forest Department allotted one hectare of land near Shilphata, where the club adopted a long-term "Plant–Protect–Preserve" approach. Through continuous care, fencing, and a dedicated caretaker, around 400 indigenous trees have been successfully nurtured with a high survival rate. Recognizing these efforts, an additional one hectare of land was allotted in 2025. During the Mega Plantation Drive on 12 July 2026, Rotarians, volunteers, and citizens planted 500 more indigenous trees. The project was appreciated by District Governor Dr. Nilesh Jaywant and MLA Dr. Sanjay Kelkar. Aranya Habitat aims to evolve into a model urban forest and biodiversity park, promoting environmental conservation, community participation, and a greener future for generations to come.
